Alex Payne director-general of Microsoft announced that from June 30, 2020, Microsoft will not issue any new certification and exam related to this MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator), MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) programs.
Certification obtained until June 30, 2020, will be valid till June 2022 (for two years). Students will have to plan accordingly to clear the exams otherwise certification will not be obtained because Microsoft is completely transitioning to certification based on roles/specializations. For Windows Server 2019 or SQL Server 2019 both are included in new certification based on roles/specializations.

Microsoft decided to close the old certifications and change it to the new one, will not affect the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications.
